My work is dedicated to explorations in metaphysics and physics. I utilize the human figure metaphorically and often embed symbolism within patterns. I also embed expressions in under painting layers, sculptural form and surface treatments, such as patinas. Thematically, platonic solids and string theory are no strangers within my work. I utilize basic universal forms, archetypal images, ancient and contemporary symbolism within patterns, as a means to transcend perceived restrictions of physical existence.
In my work, a duality of contradictory forces are always at play. Thoughtful harmonic division of space, as the anchoring device, and seeming randomness of free movement, right-hemisphere, spatial, intuitive, relational, as the catalyst. I use this interaction of the one with the other, as a method to entice the observer to suspend, at least momentarily, the need to “understand” in the world and succumb to this interrelational dialogue without words.
