Ever since I was a little girl, sculpture has deeply moved me. It speaks a universal language of life and emotion. As a child and now, as an adult, glass captivates me more than any material I can think of.  These two passions of mine become wed in glass casting.  As a newly emerging cast glass artist, it fills me with great joy and honor to be expressing myself in this amazing material.

Casting is a very involved, labor intensive process.  Several molds may be made in the course of creating one sculpture, the final one always being destroyed in the divestment stage, the breaking open of the mold to release the sculpture within.  I enjoy the duality of creatively expressing my inner essence and the often challenging technical aspects of creating the piece.

I believe art, especially sculpture, touches the soul.  Often my sculpture portrays “the voice” within and the struggle to express that voice authentically.  Cultural influences are at times interwoven with elements of nature to express the deepest yearnings of our collective human experience.
