Susan Jones

The excitement of drawing, smell of freshly-sharpened pencils and the inspiration of my favorite subjects: the grace and beauty found in the natural world, and the extraordinary within everyday objects around us – it is these elements I seek to capture, to translate to two dimensions and reveal for your examination and delight.

Years spent living in the American Northeast, Southeast and Northwest have each left their unique imprint on my art. The continuity throughout has been the wonderful, supportive friends and creative community I have met in each locale. My studies in art include several years of training at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, and I hold a Certificate in Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington. I currently serve as the Vice President of the Colored Pencil Society of America’s Seattle, Washington chapter, and I am a member of the Seattle Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
